Lower nature conservation authorities in Lower Saxony

Overview map for orientation on the areas of responsibility of the Lower Nature Conservation Authorities (UNB) in Lower Saxony.As a rule, there is one UNB per district/district-free city. Some larger independent towns in certain districts have their own Lower Nature Conservation Authority. Large-scale protected area administrations such as the Elbtalaue Biosphere Reserve Administration, the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park Administration and the Harz National Park Administration also perform the function of UNB in areas of their protected areas. The Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN) operates in the free territorial sea and in the community-free area as the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.
