The special publication provides a clear guide that bundles the latest scientific status on the geology of the Ruhr area for the first time. The explanations provide a summary description of the mapped geological units, their spatial position and an overview of the project results of the Integrated Geological Survey (IGL) in the Ruhr area at a processing scale of 1:50,000. Numerous illustrations, such as stratigraphic tables, tectonic maps and photos, illustrate the geological conditions in the project area. New are the distribution maps for each mapping unit.
