Description
The interoperable INSPIRE-WFS Soil / Bodenübersichtskarte Brandenburg is a download service containing data in the Annex-Schema Boden (derived from the original data set: Land overview map Brandenburg). It provides an overview of the first non-use-independent soil geological map available for Brandenburg (BÜK300). The map provides an overview of essential soils and, with its evaluations, is the basis for concrete tasks such as state, soil protection or spatial planning at state level. The legend is structured according to substrate characteristics and consists of 99 units in which the lead soil form societies are represented. The surface soil forms that characterize them were documented with chemical and physical parameters that are stored in a surface soil form archive. This makes it possible to access the data of the digital map using various evaluation methods [AG-Boden (2005): Soil mapping instructions. - 5th edition, Hannover]. In addition, selected profile pick-up points are displayed in detail. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the ground map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WFS includes the following feature types:
- Derived soil profile (so:DerivedSoilProfile): A non-point soil profile that serves as a reference profile for a specific type of soil in a specific geographical area.
- Observed Soil Profile (so:ObservedSoilProfile): Representation of a soil profile found at a specific location, the description of which is based on observations in a trench or by means of a borehole.
- Soil body (so:SoilBody): Delimited and homogeneous part of the floor covering with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns.
- Soil plot (so:SoilPlot): Place where a specific soil study is carried out.
- Soil location (so:SoilSite): Area within a larger mapped, surveyed or monitored area where a specific soil survey is carried out.

The legend is structured according to substrate characteristics and consists of 99 units in which the main soil groups are shown. All soils were characterized with chemical and physical parameters. This makes it possible to access the data of the digital map with different evaluation methods. - Soil body (so:SoilBody): Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns.
- Soil plot (so:SoilPlot): A spot where a specific soil investigation is carried out.
- Soil site (so:SoilSite): An area within a larger survey, study or monitored area, where a specific soil investigation is carried out.
