Conventional cultivation areas (WFS)
Description
The presented maps on the crop-specific cultivation areas were drawn up in the Working Group for Coordination in Variety Testing at the Association of Chambers of Agriculture. The definition of these growing areas is based on the division of Germany into soil-climate areas (BKR). The latter was created in close cooperation with the Julius Kühn Institute, Federal Research Institute for Cultivated Plants. Each municipality in Germany is assigned exactly to a soil-climate area. This also results in a clear allocation to the different crop-specific areas.
