Cantonal forest inventory
Description
The cantonal forest inventory (IFJU) carried out from 2003 to 2005 provides information on the whole Jura forest (forest and forest pasture) based on spot surveys. The surveys were carried out on the basis of a frame (inventory grid) of 250 m by 250 m covering the entire territory of the cantonal Jura. Each point on the grid was the subject of a specific survey with the exception of inaccessible plots. Some data are taken from the NFI 3 (National Forest Inventory 3, 2003-2006). IFN3 data have been integrated into the cantonal Placettes Forest Inventory database. In total, 5702 plots were inventoried as part of the IFJU. On the basis of the cantonal forest inventory, it is possible, for example, to highlight plots containing particular species or to carry out different statistical calculations.
