Description

The data contain the inventory data of regionally valuable landscape areas presented as nationally valuable in Pirkanmaa. The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Pirkanmaa was responsible for the inventory of nationally valuable landscape areas in 2012-2013. The inventory was carried out as part of the Ministry of the Environment’s updating and replenishment inventory of nationally valuable landscape areas. A new proposal for nationally valuable landscape areas was compiled from the inventory results. The inventory revised the range of areas, the value class and the boundaries to correspond to the new implementation and control systems of landscape management. The inventory focused on rural cultural landscapes, especially agricultural landscapes and other landscapes created by primary production. The value of nationally valuable landscape areas is based on diverse culturally influenced nature, managed agricultural landscape and traditional building stock. The national land use targets in the Land Use and Building Act require that valuable landscape areas be taken into account in the use of areas. Among other things, they should be included in the regional plans. The report consists of a report, inventory forms and separate appendix maps showing the nature values, the age of the building stock and land use. The regionally valuable landscape areas of Pirkanmaa were invented simultaneously in 2012-2013. The areas proposed as areas of provincial value have been presented in a separate publication and as spatial data material.
