Description
The topic shows the situation and other information from natural gas and geothermal drilling in Lower Saxony where Frac measures were carried out.
Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is a technique used to treat rocks to create artificial flow paths. Cracks are created in the rocks by pressing a Frac fluid. The rock is broken up (e.g.: to fracture) and the narrow cracks up to several hundred meters long are filled with supporting bodies made of special sands so that they do not close again. When using Frac technology in natural gas extraction, the production rate of a natural gas drilling is to be increased.
