3D-models of loose rock in Lower Saxony - Langeoog
Description
Based on the data from the Lower Saxony drilling database, a hydrogeological 3D model of the island of Langeoog was created at the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (LBEG). In total, the model depicts the subsurface up to the quaternary base in 7 geological units. The stratum sequence includes Old Pleistocene units, the deposits of the Elster, Saale and Vistula cold periods up to the most recent deposits of the Holocene, as well as deposits of the Eem warm period. In addition, the freshwater lens below the island was modelled on the basis of electromagnetic data (HEM).
