Climate change adaptation study of the Asturian coast - Temporary February 2014 - WMS
Description
During the winter months of 2014 a series of maritime tenporals reached the coast of the Cantabrian cornice causing havoc. The impact of these intense waves on the different elements of the coast caused significant structural damage in ports and on the coastal front, numerous floods and large erosions on beaches.
The analysis carried out focuses on the following points:
la reconstrucción histórica de la Cota de Inundación (CI) ha permitido caracterizar la excepcionalidad de los temporales ocurridos durante el invierno
la subida del nivel medio del mar reducirá la excepcionalidad de los temporales marítimos haciéndolos mucho más frecuentes de lo que lo son actualmente
IH Cantabria realizó una campaña de campo para evaluar los daños causados por el temporal en el Principado de Asturias. A series of photographs were made evidencing the consequences of the storm.
