swissEO NDVIz: NDVI anomaly
Description
Note map for the anomaly of the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) compared to the reference period since 2017 based on satellite data (Sentinel-2) with a spatial resolution of ten meters. The index anomaly indicates a change in the density and/or chlorophyll content ("green") of vegetation. NDVI increases can be triggered by growth and increased productivity, whereas NDVI decreases are usually the result of management or natural disturbances (storm damage, drought, insect damage, etc.) and show the effects of reduced vitality. This dataset was developed in cooperation with the BFH-HAFL and the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN for waldmonitoring.ch and for the Federal Drought Portal. Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data.
