Recreation destinations and routes in Southwest Finland, hiking and tourist destinations

Description

The material was originally compiled as part of Virkista Data! in 2017-18, and 2020 onwards, the collection and quality improvement of the data has been continued in the DigiSAAPAS project. Despite its project base, the material is constantly updated and its maintenance responsibility lies with the Regional Council of Southwest Finland. The date of the timestamp column indicates the time of update for each record. The data is a compilation of a survey aimed at municipalities and Finnish actors related to outdoor activities, the content of the LIPAS data, Metsähallitus’ route and target data and Virkista Data. data collected by DigiSAAPAS projects. The material is background information on the phase provincial plan for natural values and resources in Southwest Finland, but it is intended to serve the development of recreation, hiking and tourism in many ways. The material is updated in a decentralised manner using the Virma tool. After approval by Virma’s main user, the data content is automatically transmitted from Virma’s database to the southwestern data map service via interfaces. The material includes: point-like target material and line-like route data. All datasets starting with Virma in the southwestern data map services are filtered from this dataset (e.g. Virma nature trail or Virma hiking trail).
