Emergency Retention Areas (Authorisation Regulation)
Description
This file contains emergency storage areas as laid down in the Environmental Ordinance of the Province of Groningen. In this Environmental Ordinance, we have included destinations and rules to ensure the suitability of these areas for the function of emergency disposal. In any case, these rules contain a ban on building other than flood resistant construction and a ban on building other than high water resistant infrastructure. Emergency storage areas act as additional water storage areas for those situations where all water storage areas are already in use and even more temporary storage capacity is needed. Emergency storage areas are used on average once in 100 years or less frequently.
