REDIAM. WMS HIC 6220-0 Mediterranean, neutral-basophilic and thermo-xerophytic annual grasslands (Trachynietalia distachyae) (*-)
Description
WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of Community Interest, a priority at European level, but proposed as a non-priority for Andalusia 6220-0, annual grasslands, small, ephemeral, xerophytic, usually of low density, with mainly spring development, and that tend to be exhausted before or during the summer. They develop on carbonated or neutral soils, shallow, skeletal, decapitated or clayey, in usually dry and sunny places, of strong slope, often with great aridity, quite poor in nitrogen and with little moisture retention. They usually constitute the pioneering stage of restoration, and therefore, the last stage of forest degradation. These grasslands are usually favored by human activity (talas, fires, overgrazing), usually developing in deforested and eroded soils, frequently alternating with scrubland. Among the characteristic species of the HIC are Atractilis cancellata, Arenaria serpyllifolia, Medicago minima, Linum strictum, Plantago albicans, etc. Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network.
