Hydrogeological map of Lower Saxony 1 : 50 000 - salinisation of groundwater (salt-freshwater interface)
Description
Based on the HEM data (aeroelectromagnetic data) of the BGR, a map of groundwater salinization was created at the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (LBEG). The map consists of two display units. On the one hand, the depth of the actual salt-freshwater interface for the areas where it was possible to identify the transition area. On the other hand, for the areas where the depth resolution of the aero-electromagnetic data was not sufficient to meet the limit, the minimum thickness of the freshwater was indicated.
In addition to the aeroelectromagnetic data, groundwater quality data were included in the interpretation.
