Rail networks in Northern Germany

Description

The data set contains all relevant rail networks in northern Germany, differentiated according to the respective type (long-distance railway electrified, long-distance railway not electrified, subway, S-Bahn, tram/urban railway, narrow-gauge railway, out of service). In addition, the respective route numbers and track numbers are included. The published data comes from OpenStreetMap (OSM). The data is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Among other things, it is permissible to share the data, process it further and create maps from it. The default is that the source is named "OpenStreetMap contributors" and that the data, if it has been edited or created works (maps) from it, will also be published under a free data license. Details can be found on the OSM website: www.openstreetmap.org/copyright The data were processed for Hamburg, in particular for display in the urban geoportals. The content of the data has not changed, except for a translation of the attributes from English into German. It is only an excerpt of the rail network and the associated attributes, as required for use in the Hamburg administration (e.g. for inter-local traffic planning). Accordingly, the publisher assumes no responsibility for any errors in the OSM data. Reference is made here to the relevant procedure for reporting errors in OSM (see references).
