Hydrothermal useful horizons of the deeper subsoil of Schleswig-Holstein

Description

The map "Hydrothermal useful horizons of the deeper subsoil of Schleswig-Holstein" contains data sets on the distribution of sandstone horizons of the Dogger, Buntsandstein and Rhät for hydrothermal use in the deeper subsoil of Schleswig-Holstein as well as additional information on the quality of the data bases. Sandstone horizons of sufficient distribution and thickness offer great potential for hydrothermal use. Both widths and porosities or permeability are important criteria for assessing useful horizons. Due to the complex geological development in Schleswig-Holstein with regard to the various deposition conditions and diagenetic processes that have affected the deposits, only subspaces are relevant for hydrothermal use. Based on the trend of porosity decrease with increasing depth, which can be deduced from drilling, this representation only takes into account the sandstone horizons of at least 20 m thickness to a depth of 2500 m below ground. Among them, the risk of encountering horizons with insufficient porosities and permeability is significantly greater. The sandstone horizons lie in different depths and can overlap in the map. Areas in which the data base for the lower Untergund in Schleswig Holstein is particularly low are indicated by a dot signature. Information on properties of deep sandstone horizons, which represent potential hydrothermal useful horizons, could only be derived from a few holes, some of which are far from each other, and are therefore uncertain.
