Description
The map “Hydrothermal useful horizons of the deeper subsoil of Schleswig-Holstein” contains data sets on the distribution of sandstone horizons worthy of investigation of Dogger, Buntsandstein and Rhät for hydrothermal use in the deeper subsoil of Schleswig-Holstein as well as additional information on the quality of the data bases. Sandstone horizons of sufficient distribution and width offer great potential for hydrothermal use. Both the widths and the porosities and permeability are important criteria for assessing the useful horizons. Due to the complex geological development in Schleswig-Holstein with regard to the different deposition conditions and diagenetic processes that have affected the deposits, only subspaces are important for hydrothermal use. Based on the trend of porosity decrease with increasing depth derived from drilling, this representation only takes into account the sandstone horizons of at least 20 m thickness to a depth of 2 500 m below terrain. Among these, the risk of encountering horizons with insufficient porosities and permeability is significantly greater. The sandstone horizongs lie in different depths and can overlap in the map. Areas in which the data base on the deeper subgund in Schleswig Holstein is particularly low are indicated by a point signature. Information on the properties of deep sandstone horizons, which represent potential hydrothermal useful horizons, could only be derived from a few holes located far away from each other and are therefore uncertain.
