Data on strategic noise maps of Estonia
Description
Strategic noise maps have been submitted for cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants (Tallinn and Tartu) and major roads for noise caused by car, tram, train, aircraft traffic and industrial sources, with the following indicators:
1) day-evening-night noise indicator or Lden means the long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of the number sizes of all the daily, evening and night-time sound pressure levels of the year, which is an indicator of the overall annoyance of noise;
2) ‘daytime noise indicator’ or ‘Lday’ means the long-term average sound pressure level, determined over all the days of the year, which characterises the disturbing effect of noise during the day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
3) evening noise indicator or Levening means the long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of all evening periods of the year, which characterises the disturbing effect of noise during the evening hours from 19.00 to 23.00;
(4) ‘Night noise indicator’ or ‘Lnight’ means the long-term average sound pressure level determined over all night periods of the year, which is an indicator of sleep disturbance at night from 23:00 to 07:00.
