Laser scan data Brandenburg (2008-2012)

Description

Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS): Airborne measurement using laser light is a method of directly determining the distance of the terrain to the aircraft. The result is a three-dimensional image of the Earth's surface. The measuring devices (laser scanners) are able to penetrate forest and herb layers as far as possible in the low vegetation time. In addition to the object heights of the vegetation and the buildings, the terrain heights are recorded in this way. The scanner measures the distance to the surface by determining the duration of a short pulse of infrared laser radiation. The ALS data are in the form of an irregular three-dimensional point cloud and represent the situation at the time of the flight. Due to different detection times, height jumps can occur, e.g. in vegetation and water areas. The airborne laser scan data (2008-2012) are offered as historical data. The data is provided free of charge via automated procedures or by self-extraction. When using the data, the license conditions must be observed.
