City of Gelsenkirchen: Heavy rain hazards (WMS)
Description
Heavy rains in cities can pose dangers to residents and material goods due to uncontrolled superficial water. With the increasing probability of heavy rain due to climate change, the potential of danger and damage is also growing in the coming decades. The GDI-GE application of heavy rain hazards is to use the existing data base and the analysis results to show hazardous areas in which measures to reduce flood hazards and object protection are useful/necessary. The surface runoff was evaluated without considering the sewer network. In addition to technical information on flood hazards, additional information such as urban infrastructures (school, hospital, etc.), monuments and waters are included in the application.
