The residual thickness of the lower chalk in the duck beak
Description
The maximum thickness between the base of the lower chalk and the Upper Cretaceous base is approximately 1 000 m and is reached in the far northwest (Outer-Rough Basin) on the border with the Danish North Sea sector. A further increase in thickness can be observed in the central trench. In the central part of the duck beak, no lower chalk is obtained by a deeply intrusive discordance at the base of the hanging upper chalk deposits.
