Tolerance level of the MOPplusFR model

Description

The tolerance level layer is an administrative layer of official measurement. Levels are defined from 1 to 5 depending on human use and the value of the areas (1 for very dense city centres to 5 for high mountain areas). In the canton of Fribourg, only tolerance levels 2, 3 and 4 are defined. The official measurement data quality guidelines set tolerances according to the levels defined in this layer. Tolerance level 2 defines built-up and building areas. It is captured accurately. For tolerance levels 3 and 4, the difference is made as follows for the moment: • areas below 1000 m above sea level are at level 3 (intensive agricultural and forestry areas) • areas above 1000 m above sea level are at level 4 (extensive agricultural and forestry areas) To the extent possible, tolerance level geometries are defined in conjunction with land boundaries. A more precise distinction between levels 3 and 4 will be made in the coming years, with the arrival of cadastrations of municipalities located in the Pre-Alps.
