Business park Eemshaven Zuidoost (Structure Vision Eemsmond-Delfzijl)
Description
This stock contains the Eemshaven Zuidoost business park, as established in the Eemsmond-Delfzijl Structural Vision.
The Environment Vision provides room for the expansion of the Eemshaven in a south-easterly direction. This area is primarily intended for data centres and to a limited extent for similar forms of energy-related activity and assembly of computers, peripherals and software. This so-called ‘dry’ inland expansion of the Eemshaven covers a gross area of 210 hectares. Of these, 30 hectares have already been realised and a maximum of 100 hectares will be spent for the said activity. The other hectares are intended, among other things, for the realisation of wind turbines, the construction of (technical) infrastructure and measures related to responsible landscape integration.
This area was chosen because of the proximity of power plants and the associated security of supply, and the landing at the Eemshaven of the transatlantic internet cable.
