Population density

Description

The target category contains data on population density per inhabitant per square kilometre. The data is produced centrally by VTT using the residential data of the building and dwelling register. The population density is calculated using the spatial data programme for all roads. For the purpose of the calculation, the road network shall be divided into periods of 100 metres from the beginning of each road section. At each end of the road section, the population density is calculated within a radius of 399 m, i.e. in an area of half a square kilometre. The population density of a road section of 100 m shall be the average of the population density at its ends. Values below 15 inhabitants/km2 are not exported to Tiewizard for data protection reasons. The sequences of 100 m are combined so that values greater than 99 are presented with the accuracy of two significant digits. The target category is not versionable. Covers the roads.
