Soil overview map 1:400.000
Description
The soil survey map in the scale of 1:400 000 (BÜK400) depicts different soil societies, each with their soil typological character, their soil substrates (soil exit rocks) and their relief layer (morphology) in terms of landscape. The BÜK400 was used as a basis for the creation of ground atlases and geochemical maps. In addition, the BÜK400 is used as an overview map for regional and supraregional planning of a variety of types. It does not build on the larger-scale soil survey maps BÜK200 and BK50, but is, due to the summary of similar or comparable soil societies, an independent map based on various geofactors. The BÜK400 was completely revised in 2017 according to KA5 (ground-based mapping instructions of the State Geological Services and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials, 5th edition, Hannover 2005) and is available digitally for download with legend and as an interactive map.
