Flooding - Vulnerability of vulnerable objects extreme precipitation (2018)
Description
This map shows the vulnerable objects that are vulnerable to flooding as a result of an extreme shower of 100 mm in 2 hours in the urban area of the province of Zuid-Holland.
Vulnerable objects are buildings that are particularly vulnerable in an emergency, for example healthcare institutions or schools. This map shows whether they are at risk of flooding in case of extreme precipitation.
Structure
Vulnerable objects run a 'high risk' (red) if there is water against the facade in an extreme shower. The other buildings are given a 'low risk' (green).
In the modelling, only the current over ground level is often included; Drainage through sewerage and open water is often not included. It is therefore possible that the bottlenecks presented are not always recognised in practice (to that extent). No rights can be derived from the absolute values. The results give a first indication of the expected degree of vulnerability of buildings in the event of heavy precipitation.
