Workplace accessibility by public transport 2014
Description
Workplace accessibility in the Turku city region by public transport via the road and street network. Accessibility is calculated as an exponential distance function of the average distance travelled, weighted by the number of jobs. The connections for the trips are made at walking speeds along the pedestrian and bicycle network. The analysis was carried out by utilising the Emme and OpenStreetMap road networks and the grid data from the urban structure monitoring system (YKR) in 2011. The road network data has been used for speeds specific to the type of route, and the number of jobs has been retrieved from the grid data. 30% of the service interval has been added to the travel time to describe the waiting time of the public transport vehicle and the line-specific climb time of the Emme description.
