Description

This information template is a hydrogeological evaluation with locations for which there are indications of artesian conditions. The clues were evaluated uniformly in order to be able to see, for example, in what depth the artesian conditions are to be expected. Artesians occur whenever an area in the groundwater is encountered during drilling in which the pressure conditions cause it to rise above the surface of the terrain. This is the case when the hydraulic potential of the groundwater is greater than the surface of the terrain. However, the hydraulic potential of a location is not always the same. Different factors have an influence on this, such as groundwater recharge or groundwater extraction. Little can be said about the lateral extent of the artesian conditions, since these often occur under a groundwater-inhibiting layer and the spatial extent of these is not known in sufficient detail. The evaluation is intended to provide assistance, especially in the planning of boreholes, in order to be able to estimate whether a groundwater-inhibiting layer can be easily intersected or not. For this purpose, information is provided about the location of the artesians, the groundwater layer, the groundwater inhibitory layer, the expected depth in which the artesian conditions can occur and much more. The layer inventory of the borehole, geological cross-sections and groundwater flow lines can be called up for a closer look at the local conditions via hyperlinks. This evaluation does not claim to be complete and is therefore continuously processed.
