Historical forest areas of Prussia in the state of Brandenburg
Description
The data results from the digital collection of forest areas, differentiated according to 16 categories. The basis was 298 map sheets of the second Prussian state image and the topographic map of Saxony (Territory of Brandenburg). The detection scale is 1:25000. The recording was carried out by the Royal Prussian State Survey and the Topographic Bureau of the Royal General Staff. The recording period of the recorded card sheets is between 1879 and 1902. Particularly noteworthy are the elevation layer lines for the terrain display and the relatively high accuracy after the introduction of the metric system. The maps have coordinates in the frame (geographical coordinates). The original maps are owned by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Prussian Cultural Heritage) and the Saxon State Library (State and University Library Dresden).
