Groundwater bodies and characterization of hydrosystems in Protected Natural Areas of Andalusia, 2006
Description
A total of 91 Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) have been studied in the whole of Andalusia. For each of them, the cartography of their boundary, the drainage network (differentiating surface water bodies where they exist), and the groundwater bodies that directly and indirectly affect the ENP have been represented. Based on this information and the detailed study of hydrodynamics in each specific case, the limits of the hydrosystem are defined. This boundary is a polygon that encompasses the basins direct to the ENP, indirect (through groundwater bodies) and the groundwater bodies themselves. Based on this thematic information, it is possible to define the area of the potential water condition of the anthropic actions in the environment of each ENP, a key aspect for its present and future management.
