Promoting particularly sustainable practices related to the implementation of the Habitats and Birds Directives The objectives of the funding are the maintenance of agricultural land use of nature reserves, national parks, national natural monuments, natural monuments and legally protected biotopes, within the meaning of § 30 of the BNatSchG, in NATURA 2000 areas – with positive consequences for biodiversity and the conservation or improvement of the environment. The purpose of the grant is to compensate for economic disadvantages due to special restrictions on the use of plant protection products in connection with the implementation of the Habitats and Birds Directives for the protection of biodiversity and conservation and development of habitats and species. The waiver of the use of certain plant protection products in Thuringia of productive arable and permanent crop areas laid down in § 4(1) of the PflSchAnwV is eligible for funding on areas which lie in the EAP framework (severe compensatory plant protection). The EAP-Kulisse consists of the areas currently available at the beginning of one year of the Thuringian Nature Reserves, National Parks, National Nature Monuments and Natural Monuments located within the NATURA 2000 sites. The layout of these areas is adapted annually on 1 February and published in digital form in the Geoportal Thüringen.
