Historical Soil Digital Database — Soil Deeps (INSPIRE Download Service)
Description
The soils of agricultural land in Latvia have been mapped between 1960 and 1991 in several layers, using different soil classifications on a scale of 1:10 000 at different times, resulting in differences between districts.
As a result of the European Economic Area project “Development of the National System for Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Reporting on Policies, Measures and Forecasts” (No 4.3-233/EEZ/INP-002), the research project “Sustainable promotion of land resource management through the creation of a digital soil database” carried out the extraction of existing geodetic coordinates (LKS 92) and the creation of a database for the 746 depths of soil in the materials of the Central Archives of the State Land Service between September 2014 and March 2016.
The download file shall contain information on the soil depth number, year, integrated soil granulometric composition, granulometric composition of the top layer, granulometric composition of the subsoil, depth of occurrence of free calcium carbonates.
