Flood risk areas INSPIRE View
Description
Flooding is an overflow of territory, which can be caused not only by flood waters, but also by heavy, prolonged rainfall, storms, dyke ruptures, etc. in Latvia, when ice congestion occurs in rivers, floods are caused by floods when larger areas, including buildings and infrastructure objects, are flooded. In cooperation with the Finnish Institute of Environment, work is also being carried out on the creation of the Water Simulation and Forecast System (WSFS) in the river basins of Lielupe, Venta and Gauja.
The result of the modeling is published in this service according to the specification of INSPIRE for the lower part of Lielupe
