Andalusia currently has 6 wines covered by Denominations of Origin and a wine aromatised with Denomination of Origin, made in four provinces. Among these are five of Spain’s first Appellations of Origin, recognised in the 1932 Wine Statute: ‘Condado de Huelva’, ‘Jerez-Xérès-Sherry’, ‘Manzanilla — Sanlúcar de Barrameda’, ‘Málaga’ and ‘Montilla — Moriles’.
Subsequently, in 2000, the Designation of Origin ‘Sierras de Málaga’ was recognised, which protects red, rosé and white wines. Also in 2011 the Designation of Origin of aromatised wine was recognised
‘Orange Wine from the County of Huelva’.
