The olive grove forms a substantial part of the Andalusian landscape, constituting the source of wealth of numerous villages, the basis of their gastronomy and traditions. There is a whole millenary culture around the olive grove. Some olive groves, with many centuries of life, are true witnesses of our history.
The olive grove, considered an authentic Mediterranean forest, has an irreplaceable ecological value, which curbs the serious effect of erosion and the advance of desertification. In Andalusia, the expansion of the most environmentally friendly cultivation practices (organic production and integrated production) is also noteworthy, which contributes to greater consumer confidence.
