Description
The database of Peridotitas de Ronda arises with the purpose of being able to manage and consult all the information coming from the research projects of precious metals (gold and elements of the platinum group) carried out in the Ultrabasic Massifs of Malaga jointly between the Technological and Geomining Institute of Spain and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía during the end of the 80s.
The studies carried out in the Ultrabasic Massifs of Malaga include six research projects with their respective memories. The projects are as follows:
- Revision of the Metal Genetic Map of Spain. Area of the Ultrabasic Massifs of Malaga.
- Mineralometric Cartography to support the Metallogenetic Cartography of the Massifs of Malaga.
- Research of precious metals (gold and elements of the platinum group) in the Ultrabasic Massifs of Malaga. Petrological and Petrogenetic Research in the Ronda Massif. Phase (I).
- Densification of sampling and analysis in research for precious metals (gold and platinoids) in the reserve "Macizos de Málaga".
- Research of precious metals (Gold and elements of the platinum group) in the Ultrabasic Massifs of Ronda, Petrogenetic and Petrological Research, Phase (II).
- Research of precious metals in restricted areas of the state reserves "Macizos de Málaga".
All the information generated in the projects was processed and incorporated into a database.
The database was incorporated into SIGMA in 1995, when the final database versions were delivered.
