the Sanitary District

The Health District is constituted by aggregations of Basic Health Zones giving rise to the Map of Primary Health Care. According to Law 2/1998 of 15 June 1998 on Health in Andalusia, health districts are created with the aim of achieving greater efficiency in the organization and operation of the Andalusian Public Health System, generating for the planning, management and support of the provision of primary health care services in Andalusia. In 2002, the Map of Primary Health Care in Andalusia was updated in accordance with the Order of 7 June 2002 and corrigendum to that Order (June 2002 and September 2003). The information, created and stored in GIS format, has been documented in the Ministry of Health at a scale of 1:100,000.
